Test Results Sub-panel

In Tests tab, Test Results sub-panel of the edit pop up is used to access past results test or add new test results for the selected test.

To access the test results sub-panel, scroll down to the bottom of the edit tests dialog box and click on the Test Results sub-panel.

A table shows existing test results. You can edit or delete these results by clicking the buttons in the right edge of each row. In edit mode, you can click OK or Cancel buttons to save or discard changes. To add a new test result, click on the Conduct Test button and provide required inputs.

Test results are entered by test sessions. Test results cannot be entered if there is no active test session. To start a test session, click the Start Test session button and provide the required input. To end a test session, click the End Session button. Only one test session can be active at a time.



All testing in InspiRD suite is conducted in sessions. Hence it is possible to conduct the same set of tests multiple times during one project. To start a new test session, select the project for which you wish to conduct testing and click Start Test Session. A dialog box allows you to provide a name and date for testing. Once you provide the information and click OK, a test session window opens.

Please note that the Start Test Sessions button is disabled if there is an active test session for the selected project. Please click Continue Test Session button to add more test results to the selected project. Or click Close Test session to complete open test session.

Test Session Window

The Test Session window defaults to a data grid view. Expansion button (arrow head) to the left of the Title column is used expand and collapse the level of detail. Click the horizontal arrow to expand the tree and show next level of architecture. Click the down arrow to collapse the tree and hide the corresponding level of detail.

Individual project guides can be expanded to show requirement guides or risk guides for the project. Individual requirement or risk guides can be expanded to show tests planned to check for requirement satisfaction.

Across the top of the window are a series of toolbar buttons. Buttons of Test Session toolbar are described below.

Conduct Test

Select a tab and click Conduct Test button to enter results for the selected test. Please provide information in the dialog box. Fields marked with * are required.

Edit Test Result

Select any test and click Edit Test Result button to make changes to the test result.

Delete Test Result

Select any test and click Delete Test Results button to delete the test results for the selected test.

Expand Tree

Click Expand tree button to expand the tree for the selected project and show all tests.

Filter

Click filter button to narrow the number of tests shown.

Click the X on the top right corner of the Test Session window to close the window.

1.1     Continue Test Session

To continue testing and add more test results to a Test Session, Select the project and click Continue Test Session. Please note that the Continue Test Session button will be disabled if there are no open test sessions for the selected project.

1.2     View Test Results

View Test Results button allows you to see results of multiple test sessions for the selected project. Please use the multi-select and check all test sessions for which you would like to view test results.

1.3     Close Test Session

Close Test Session button closes a test session. Once the session is closed, no further testing can be conducted in that test session. Close Test Session button will be disabled if there are no open test sessions for the selected project.
