The Add button opens a dialog box that allows you to add a new test case to check if a requirement has been satisfied or a risk has been mitigated. Please note that test cases can only be added to a source requirement or risk in the InspiRD app. Please see Terminology for more details.

  • Select Tests tab and the source project for the test in the navigation panel.
    • If the right project is not the visible, turn the nav panel carousel to left and select the right basis platform
    • Turn the carousel back to show projects
    • Alternatively, if switch to portfolio tab and select the right project and switch back to the Tests tab.
  • Select the source requirement or risk for the test
    • Turn the nav panel carousel to the right to switch it to requirements
    • Select a requirement and turn the nav panel carousel to the right to switch it to risks
  • Click the Add button and fill out the information in the dialog box described below

If you cannot find the project you want to use you want to use, it may be because you don’t have access to the project. Please talk with the project owner to make appropriate changes.

  • Title is used to identify the test case throughout InspiRD Suite. Please limit the title to less than 40 characters if possible. However, please be detailed enough to make sure that the requirement is clearly identified regardless of use
  • Description provides more details about the test. Please be as descriptive as possible and communicate the use the requirement clearly. Once the requirement has been added, you may attach documents with more detailed information, graphics, etc. To do this, edit the test case and go to the Attachment tab to upload files.
  • Test Type, Test Status: Select the appropriate value from the drop down boxes.
  • Estimate: Provide estimate of time it will take to conduct the test

Additional fields selected by your administrator may need to be entered. All fields marked with an * are required at a minimum.

Please note that the add button is disabled if:

  • A requirement or a risk is not selected
  • the source project for the requirement or a risk is a link adjunct
  • the user does not have RW access to the source project

In addition to logging the generation of the new test case, the InspiRD App makes a log entry in source project indicating that the test case was added and by whom. Email notifications are sent to the owner of the source requirement and project.
