Add Risk

The Add button in the Risks tab opens a dialog box that allows you to add a new risk to any requirement. Please note that risks can only be added to a requirement. The Add Risk button will be disabled unless a requirement is selected in the navigation panel.

  • Select Risks tab and select the source project in the navigation panel.
    • If the right project is not the visible, turn the nav panel carousel to left and select the right basis platform
    • Turn the carousel back to show projects
    • Alternatively, if switch to portfolio tab and select the right project and switch back to the Requirements tab.
  • Select the source requirement in the nav panel
    • Turn the nav panel carousel to the right to switch it to requirements
  • Click the Add button and fill out the information in the dialog box described below.

If you cannot find the project you want to use you want to use, it may be because you don’t have access to the project. Please talk with the project owner to make appropriate changes.

  • Title is used to identify risk throughout InspiRD Suite. Please limit the title to less than 40 characters if possible. However, please be detailed enough to make sure that the requirement is clearly identified regardless of use
  • Description provides more details about the risk. Please be as descriptive as possible and communicate the use the requirement clearly. Once the requirement has been added, you may attach documents with more detailed information, graphics, etc. To do this, edit the requirement and go to the Attachment tab to upload files.
  • Severity, Occurrence, Detectability: Select from the drop down box the Severity of risk if it were to occur; the likelihood it will occur and Detectability before it occurs.
  • Risk Mitigation: Provide mitigation actions being undertaken for this risk
  • % Satisfied: Provide % work completed towards satisfying this requirement.

All fields marked with an * are required at a minimum. Add button will be disabled unless all required fields are filled.

At the bottom of the Add dialog box, an Owner sub-panel is available. Use this sub-panel to assign ownership of the new element to another user. Owners receive notifications about changes affecting the requirement.

Please note that the add button is disabled if:

  • A requirement is not selected
  • the source project for the requirement project is a link adjunct
  • the user does not have RW access to the source project

In addition to logging the generation of the new risk, the InspiRD App makes a log entry in source project indicating that the risk was added and by whom. Email notifications are sent to the owner of the source requirement and project.
