- Product Development Projects
- Market Domain Projects

Please note that if access control is enabled, you need to have a PRW access to the basis platform to be able to add a Project. If you cannot find the platform you want use, it may be because
- Architecture has not been defined adequately
- You don’t have access to the platform. Please talk with the architecture lead to make appropriate changes.
Add a Sub-project to current selection:
- Navigate to the Portfolio tab and Product or Market/Mission/Indication tab in the nav panel
- Select the basis platform for the root project in the nav panel,
- Select the root project in the content panel and expand the tree to the parent project
- Select the parent project to which you want to add a subproject and click add.
- From the drop-down menu, choose the basis platform for the new project.
- Fill out the information in the dialog box described below. Parent information will be copied to child project to simplify data entry
Only one sub-project may be added to a system project at each basis subsystem platform. If you cannot find the subsystem platform you want to use, it may be
- Architecture has not been defined adequately
- The basis platform has already been used to add another subproject for the parent project
- You don’t have access to the subsystem platform. Please talk with the product architecture lead to make appropriate changes.
Please note that if access control is enabled, you need to have an RW access to the parent project and PRW access to the basis platform to be able to add a child project.
Add Project Dialog box
- Title is used to identify projects throughout InspiRD Suite. Please limit the title to less than 40 characters if possible. However, please be detailed enough to make sure that the project is clearly identified regardless of use (especially within different hierarchies). For example, instead of use the title “Struts in Suspensions” for the strut project within the suspension sub-subsystem. That way, it will be easier to differentiate suspension struts from other struts used in frame or body.
- Description provides more details about the project. Please be as descriptive as possible and communicate the use the project clearly. Once the project has been added, you may attach documents with more detailed information, graphics, etc. To do this, edit the project and go to the Attachment tab to upload files.
- Start Date provides the date when work will be started.
- Delivery Date provides the date when the project was / will be completed.
- Project Type, Project Phase, Project Status provide various properties of the current project based on selections made by your administrator.
- Maturity Goal refers to the target maturity of the underlying technology or system at project completion, from concept to production (please select from the dropdown box).
- Estimated Costs and Resources includes amount and type budget needed to complete the project. It also includes the amount and type of resources needed for the project. For a multi-year project, each year is funded individually. In that case the development cost and resources should be for the selected period of performance only, not the total multi-year cost. In Product Projects, please enter cost just for the project being entered, not its children. Each child should have its costs entered in its dialog box. The system will sum project costs across the system tree.
- Additional fields may be included based on your organization’s configuration.
All fields marked with an * are required at a minimum. Add button will be disabled unless all required fields are filled.
At the bottom of the Add dialog box, an Owner sub-panel is available. Use this sub-panel to assign ownership of the new element to another user. Owners receive notifications about changes affecting the platform.
In addition to logging the generation of the new project, the InspiRD App makes a log entry in the basis platform indicating that the project was added and by whom. Email notifications are sent to the owner of the parent (if enabled).
If the new child project is added to a link prime project, a link adjunct copy of the new child is automatically created in all its link adjunct projects. This way, InspiRD ensures all link adjunct copies are synchronized with the link prime project. Related modification logs are automatically added to appropriate items.
Add project button will be disabled if:
- You have not selected a basis platform or a parent project
- You do not have PRW access to the basis platform
- You do not have RW access to the parent project
- Constraints your organization has set up for your portfolio architecture.
Hovering the mouse button on the Add Project button will show a tool tip indicating the reason for disabling the button.
